ATO Digital Communication Update

The Australian Taxation Office has introduced Communication Preferences, allowing tax agents like Hamilton Morello to receive selected ATO correspondence digitally. This provides faster delivery, better security, and reduced environmental impact.

The ATO sends over 144 million letters each year, and traditional mail involves significant costs due to secure printing and processing. Moving to digital delivery helps reduce these expenses for all taxpayers.

What This Means for You

With your consent, we can update your ATO communication settings so that key notices are sent directly to us electronically. This ensures we receive information promptly and can act quickly on your behalf.

This change only affects how the ATO communicates with Hamilton Morello. You will still receive documents from us via your preferred method (email or post).

Notices We Recommend Sending to Us Digitally

  • Income tax
  • Superannuation
  • Study and training support loans
  • Activity statements
  • Debt notices
  • Employer and business obligations

Hard copies remain available upon request.

Next Step

We will be reaching out to clients shortly to obtain consent to update ATO communication preferences.
