Giving back to the community is important to Hamilton Morello. This quarter we "stepped up for Cerebral Palsy Research" and we made a donation to the "Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia" in memory of Peter Burgess.
Hamilton Morello Steps up for Cerebral Palsy Research
During September, Hamilton Morello staff took up the challenge to step at least 10,000 steps per day. There were 7 teams of four that competed for the challenge. The winning team (pictured along with organiser Michelle Newcombe) managed 1,535,341 steps during the 28 days. They also raised $1,360 for the cause; in total the office raised $1,746.
Working in an office is quite a sedentary occupation and creates a challenge to achieve 10,000 steps per day. At Hamilton Morello we learnt you need to factor in your exercise outside of the normal working hours. It helps that we have stand up desks in our new office, another healthy initiative brought in by management.
